Jakarta, September 07, 2009: Earthstone today announced that Earthstone Foundation, the corporate philanthropy organization of Earthstone, is launching a 'Adopt-a-village' program to rebuild one of the worst affected villages in the Tasikmalaya region during the recent Earthquake in Indonesia. The village will be identified in conjunction with the local government. 

On September 02, 2009, the powerful 7.0 magnitude Earthquake hit the Java Island, Indonesia, destroying homes of thousands of people in Indonesia. The death toll has risen to 59 and more than 400 people are injured, according to the National Disaster Coordinating Agency. The toll continues to rise, and the needs of survivors are many.

The Earthstone Foundation is firmly committed to providing significant humanitarian assistance to the people. While our initial focus will be to provide relief in the immediate aftermath of this devastating tragedy, our commitment of IDR 100,000,000 will be utilized to rebuild the entire social infrastructure of the village. Construction of Houses, Schools, providing primary healthcare facilities, social facilities, vocational training to provide a means of livelihood for the villagers will be some of the key initiatives of this program.
