Community Initiative
At Earthstone, we strongly believe that good values are the foundation of a good business. We are committed to contribute positively to the communities we operate and work in. Our aim is to help build stronger local communities, to minimize our environmental footprint, to create a great workplace and to promote diversity.

Through our Earthstone Foundation, we work with local partners in India, Africa and Indonesia on numerous projects in the areas of education, healthcare, emergencies, women and children welfare, etc.

Earthstone ‘Educate Today, Empower Tomorrow' Program

Education is one of the key pillars of Earthstone's CSR strategy and we believe that education is paramount in terms of developing society for future success. Our Education programme allows us to help young brilliant talents across the world to achieve their educational goals and dreams in life.

Our Earthstone Worldwide Scholarship Programme is focused on helping young bright students to attain higher education and achieve their dreams. Our Founding Shareholder Mr. Pankaj Shah, being a native Indian, feels that Earthstone's effort shall benefit his home country by strengthening youth and equipping them with a weapon of education for better tomorrow. Thus, we have studied the experience of many NGOs, orphanages, trusts and organization, involved in similar effort. At the end we found two trustworthy organizations that we think are suiting our purposes well: Vikash Educational Charitable Trust and The Digjyoti Educational Trust. We have partnered Vikash Charitable Trust, a non-profit, non-political organization in India which is engaged in selecting academically brilliant but economically backward students and arranging financial assistance from different donor organizations for them.

In this academic year, we are supporting 21 students including 8 MBBS, 1 BDS, 1 Engineer and 7 B.Tech students from the Vikash Charitable Trust. Out of these, we are supporting 13 students who are academically brilliant, but in the midst of their courses, their donors announced incapability to further assist with grants earlier allocated.

Healthcare

In India, we are associated with the world renowned Jaipur Foot Organization, which has so far provided more than 1,000,000 free Artificial Limbs to those in need. In Africa, we are supporting a healthcare project in Niamey, the capital city of Central Western Country Niger. We are also in process of funding a primary healthcare center in Sumatra, Indonesia.

Emergencies Relief Program

Earthstone Foundation's approach to dealing with disaster relief projects is to integrate itself into international humanitarian effort; focus first on immediate disaster relief, and in the longer term to concentrate on collaboration with local and state governments, civil societies and NGOs to rebuild families, to offer development assistance to affected children, and to help support reconstruction efforts.

Earthstone Foundation pledged over IDR 1,000,000,000 towards the Immediate Disaster Relief for helping victims of the powerful earthquake that struck Sumatra Island of Indonesia. Within hours after disaster, Earthstone Foundation Disaster Response Team (EFDRT) was activated that at this time actively participates in relief efforts alongside with international squads on site.

The city of Padang was devastated by a 7.6 earthquake on September 30, 2009 followed by the 6.8 magnitude earthquake claiming at least 1,100 lives and destroying homes throughout the region, collapsing homes and buildings, and affecting more than 1 million children and families. Some of the other prominent areas affected are Pariyaman and Krinchi.

In conjunction with international efforts, members of EFDRT at this time have completed extensive work in Padang city and remote affected districts of Krinchi and Pariyaman. Emergency supplies of medications, inoculations, and equipment arranged from Jakarta city for two of the largest hospitals in Padang. Generator sets arranged for a big hospital to ensure electricity supply for patient treatment. Temporary shelters, food supplies, hospitalization for victims built in Padang, Pariyaman and Krinchi areas.

Earthstone Foundation launched an 'Adopt-a-village' program to rebuild one of the worst affected villages in the Tasikmalaya region hit by the powerful 7.0 magnitude Earthquake on September 02, 2009, destroying homes of thousands of people in Indonesia. The village will be identified in conjunction with the local government.

Construction of Houses, Schools, providing primary healthcare facilities, social facilities, vocational training to provide a means of livelihood for the villagers will be some of the key initiatives of this program.
